Outreach_CustomAbout Our OUTREACH Programs

All Saints' Kingsway supports a variety of programs that assist people in the local community as well as around the world.

Habitat for Humanity

“creating a community that cares”

habitatforhumanity
All Saints' Kingsway is becoming more involved in this non-profit, non-government, charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of economically disadvantaged persons through home ownership, and the belief that decent, affordable housing is a basic human need.

Established in 1988, Habitat for Humanity Toronto (HFHT) is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity.   HFHT works with corporate, faith and individual donors and volunteers to build simple, decent, affordable houses in partnership with families in need of adequate shelter.

Every year since 2005 parishioners of All Saints' Kingsway have spent a fulfilling day at one of the HFHT build sites helping to construct a new home for a needy family.

Stonegate Community Ecumenical Ministry

It is a privilege for us to be called to walk with Him at Stonegate and sow His love into people’s lives.

community

Stonegate Community Ecumenical Ministry (SCEM) was founded on the belief that the churches needed to play an active role in reaching out to the community and serving its social and spiritual needs. This joint ministry of Anglican, United, Presbyterian, Baptist, Polish Full Gospel and Roman Catholic churches has continued since the inception of the ministry in 2000.    ( http://www.stonegateministry.ca/home.php )

Volunteers from all the local Churches are active in the SCEM programs.  An SCEM Board of twelve people, drawn from the local churches and the community, meet monthly to provide strategic direction for the work of the ministry.

The core clientele for SCEM's work are the tenants who live in 79 low-rise apartment buildings in the neighbourhood, a population around 12,000 people. These people earn low incomes; many families are headed by a single parent; and many are new Canadians, recently arrived in Canada. There is a high unemployment rate in the area, and many youg people have experience with the justice system. Another important segment of the community is senior citizens living on limited incomes

Beyond Food Banks…...

HungerThank you everyone who has donated food to the Food Bank at Christ Church St James.  Some weeks I have to make three trips to my car with the food.  Alternatively, some weeks there is really not enough food to justify using the gas to drive to Christ Church St. James.  This is the situation with Food Banks, of course: because the amount of food ebbs and flows.   I am sure the recipients experience different outcomes every week.  Please try to remember to bring some food along on Sunday or throughout the week works too.

Out of the Cold

"The bleeding continues, but we are getting better at making bandages."

OOTClogo

Out of the Cold  (OOTC)  at All Saints’ Kingsway opened its doors in 1995.
OOTC was meant to be a Band Aid solution, a temporary fix for a complex problem, but here we are, many years later still going strong!

Friday nights from November to April we help some of the most disadvantaged and marginalized people in our society – men and women who are in desperate need of Food, Fellowship and Shelter

Announcements related to OOTC  will be posted on the front page of this website closer to the dates.

If you would like to become involved in OOTC please contact the coordinator through the church office on 416-233-1125 Ext 0 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it    or  go to the OOTC website
